Transparent 001

i'm addicted to rimmel's stay matte face powder in transparent 001. first off the packaging is a huge disappointment! due to it's lack of design the lid keeps falling off, now just because the packaging isn't the best doesn't mean the product itself is a fail. this is one of the best drugstore brand face powders i have ever used. the consistency of the formula is fine and the texture is smooth. it applies beautifully and is not chalky. this product does have a light fragrance and i'm not a huge fan of scented products as i do have sensitive skin but the fragrance is light enough that it doesn't bother me. the product does provide up to 4hrs of shine control and then reapplication is needed (on the packaging it says 5hrs but i have an oily t-zone). i use elf's professional large face kabuki brush to buff it on to areas where i need shine control. best of all i buy it on sale for $2.50 CDN! this is one of my holy grail products...almost time to buy another one.

Galapogos

nars has never disappointed me with their eye shadows – yet.
galapogos is one of the most beautiful shades of chocolate with finely milled gold sparkles i have ever come across. the texture is velvety and the color is highly pigmented. the product is encased in this sleek, rubberized package and it comes complete with a little mirror on the inside for beauty on the go. the richness of this color is perfect for this fall and winter, but i do warn you it does have a lot of fall out.

Birthday Suit

skinny dipping is not an option here...i'm talking about benefit's "birthday suit". i came across this cream eyeshadow (that could easily be used as an eyeliner) that promised me to never crease, water resistant and would last all day. how could i say no to the eyeshadow of my dreams...ok, i have to admit the cheeky name did get my attention. for those of you who have oily lids, this is definitely a product you want to keep in your make up bag. i know it's bold to say but i can foresee this as one of my holy grail items in my collection.

birthday suit is a nude/champagne color with finely milled shimmer like sparkles. the texture is smooth and creamy, it doesn't come out cakey. after application this shadow doesn't budge, crease and is water resistant. true to it's promise this is one eye shadow i will repurchase. the creaseless cream shadows are packaged in a small jar like container, is easy to store and doesn't take up much room.

Obsessed with GOLD

my notd is opi for sephora's "charge it". it's a beautiful 24 karat metallic gold color and i topped off my pinky nails with opi for sephora's "only gold for me" top coat. it took me 2 coats of charge it to achieve this color.

MAC's Infamous Stereo Rose

i can't express how excited i am about the In The Groove Collection, it's the most anticipated collection of the year (let alone season). the repromote of the infamous stereo rose msf (mineralized skin finish)! stereo rose as you all know made it's debut in 2005 and has never been repromoted...until now. it's the only coral msf and sells on ebay for approx $100US - yes, i know...you can now purchase it for $33.50CDN! it is however sold out on the mac website but can still be purchased at any mac counter or pro store, but ladies believe me - it will sell out within a couple of hours of launch day (which is tomorrow). wish me luck as i'm hoping to add stereo rose to my collection! (i just heard via a well known canadian guru that the mac counters and pro stores will only have a few stereo rose msf's in stock - yikes!!)

Anna Sui

i've recently discovered anna sui's cosmetic line and absolutely fell in love with the packaging at first sight. her cosmetic line has a delicate rose fragrance that reminds of an over grown, decadent english garden. i was definitely going home empty handed after this discovery so i bought 2 eyeshadows and 1 blush
products i purchased: face color accent 302 $28CDN eye color accent 202 $22CDN eye color accent 600 $22 CDN my thoughts: the black packaging is edgy, stylish and sleek. all eyeshadows and blush comes with an applicator. i normally do not like to use the applicators that come with the packaging, but this blush brush is very nice and works quite well. the payoff is good, the colors are not as pigmented but very buildable. i do recommend using an e/s primer to prolong the life and vibrancy of your e/s.
the formula and texture of the eyeshadow is smooth. eye color 202 (the light lavender) shade is a matte finish and eye color 600 (yellow gold) is a satin finish. face color accent 302 is a lovely shade of pink with gold and pink shimmers. it gives your face an ethereal glow and works for all skin tones.
the anna sui make up line is moderately priced and is considered a luxury line in japan.
would i repurchase - YES!

Something New

who am i?
hi i'm maddie, a canadian girl who's very passionate about cosmetics and beauty products.

why is my blog called goldfish beauty?
my boyfriend lovingly calls me goldfish as a term of endearment.

why i'm blogging: to share my ideas, passions and love for cosmetics.

the idea: i'm not new to the idea of talking and comparing beauty products with friends and colleagues but new to the concept of blogging about cosmetics. like many of you, i follow well known youtube and blogging beauty gurus and absorb any (and sometimes all) helpful hints, advice, ideas and introduction to new products. i love trying out new products...yes, sometimes there's a few misses but it's a chance i'm willing to take to find the "perfect" product!

my promise: to always be honest in my opinions and to have fun.

thanks for checking out my blog ladies!
